Math Team

Interested in the 2025-2026 SPES Competition Math Team?​​​​​​​

• Who can quality? 3rd-5th grade students are eligible for the SPES competition math team.
• How do I qualify? Students with the highest national percentile ranking AND quantile measures from the Spring iReady Math Screecher which will be given to all students between March 10th and March 28th. A formal tryout will be held as a secondary measure.
• How will I know if my student qualifies? Our club sponsor will notify parents via email that their child has qualified. If a parent declines, the spot will open for the next eligible student.
• When and where do we practice/ compete? Practices are held at Shiloh before or after school. Students compete in a mixture of virtual and In-person contests schools in the local area.
• What types of competitions are there? Students compete in a range of competitions (i.e. MathLeague, MOEMS, Math Kangaroo, Noetic, etc.)
• Does my child have to be on the team to compete? Not necessarily. Many math competitions, like Math Kangaroo and MathLeague.org, are open to anyone who would like to compete.
